St Stephen's Vienna
St Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna has the best roof. It has these fabulous coloured wooden tiles arranged in this brilliant chevron pattern. Looks great from the ground but I highly reccommend climbing to the roof of the unfinished tower to view it up close.
Although do not, I repeat, do not do this if you are afraid of heights! Once you get out of the lift you climb a few steps made of the kind ironwork you can see through and which are attached to the outside wall of the tower. Mum freaked and went straight back down in the lift. Wasn't particularly helpful that it was blowing an icy ten force gale at the time either. Poor woman, I think she has just about recovered from the experience now 6 months later.
